No Stirngs AttachedNo Strings Attached Is a personal narrative I wrote for my English IV class during my Sophomore year of high school. We were tasked with writing a true story, and thus, I figured why not write a story about something I know well, stringing guitars. The story itself really helped me find the voice I wanted to stick with in my writing, and was just flat out fun to write.

"Officer W.""Officer W." was a poem I had to write for English IV , and is a satirical poem about an officer who engages in an illegal activity. I hope it's as much of a joy to read as it was to write (the school liaison officer loved it). It's not really in any particular format, my teacher just wanted us to rhyme.

Mother DearestMother Dearest is a person narrative by myself, that tells the story of my alcoholic mother. Unfortunately for me, it's a true story, which made it interesting to put it onto paper, and later analyze. Again, I tried to search for the voice I wanted to have in my papers, and according to my teacher, it sounded phenomenal. So I think I'll stick with it. I also feel this paper stuck out among some others, due to my use of visual imagery. It was written for A.P. Literature and Composition.

If Foster Read The Book ThiefIf Foster Read The Book Thief is a response paper that I wrote for A.P. Literature and Composition. It covers how the theories of analysis in Thomas C. Foster's book, How to Read Literature Like a Professor can be applies to Markus Zusak's, The Book Thief. While this is one of my earliest response papers, and it has some flaws, I felt my comparisons and application of Foster's theories to the novel were well said (or well written I suppose).

Milos Forman's Insane Interpretation of InsanityThis was a creative project I had to write for AP Literature and Composition. It was a movie review about One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, and how it compared to the book. It was interesting to take on the role of a movie critic, which we studied for a while prior by reading other reviews of our favorite movies, mine being Pulp Fiction, and Dope. I took the creative liberty of adding a star system, as well as a cast list.

Star Wars: A Modern Myth Produced 40 Years AgoThis paper was supposed to be a comparison of 1977's Star Wars and Sophocles' classic play, Antigone. Both share common themes of heroism, and within the paper it explains how Star Wars was a modern day myth for the time. I think it's a good read, but then again, I wrote it, so I'm biased.

Crusades NarrativeI'm just going to be honest, narratives are my favorite thing to write. So whenever I get the opportunity to write one for a grade, I take full advantage. This one specifically was a World History paper, in which we had to take on the point of view of a person who lived during the early middle ages, or during the Crusades.

"Can't" |
Can't is a poem I wrote for Creative Writing in early March of 2017. It was part of a project to make a poem anthology. As far as the poem itself goes, it's pretty depressing (read at your own risk), and deals with the loss of a best friend, and how some of the grieving goes that comes with it. I'm not a huge fan of writing poetry, but I'm really proud of this one, mostly because it was cathartic to write.

The Legend of SuccessThis was a piece written this year (2017) for Creative Writing. We had to put a unique spin on a personal narrative, and thus, I decided to illustrate it in the style of Allie Brosh's book, Hyperbole and a Half, which in hindsight, was a bad idea due to the time constraint for the paper. The piece is about the best game of all time, The Legend of Zelda, and the struggles I went through to get the newest game. By the time I was done though, I was content with the piece.

Rain of FireRain of Fire is a small segment of a fictional story I'm writing. Included in the document is two short-ish chapters that I wrote in about 3 weeks. It's about a cold-hearted post-apocalyptic survivor named Rick.
